About the Course

The Psychosocial Counsellor Training offered by People Development Lab (PDL) is a comprehensive 780-hour CTEVT affiliated program designed to prepare competent psychosocial counsellors for schools, communities, hospitals, NGOs and organizations. The course emphasizes practical counselling skills, ethics, communication, case management and evidence-based interventions to support individuals and communities.

Upon successful completion, participants will be well-equipped to promote mental health, provide psychosocial support during emergencies and everyday practice, and contribute to community well-being.

Key Components

1. Foundation of Mental Health – Understanding mental health disorders and psychosocial issues.
2. Therapies & Counselling Techniques – Learning evidence-based therapeutic approaches and counselling methods.
3. Community-Based Interventions – Designing and implementing psychosocial support programs.
4. Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) – Immediate support during emergencies and disasters.
5. Communication Skills – Active listening, empathy, interviewing and rapport building.
6. Training of Trainers (ToT) – Developing the ability to train future counsellors.
